I then asked how we would go through wiht the process and if I could get an inspection of the vehicle.
Because it is a large transaction we will complete the deal only using an authorized third party like eBay, using their eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection. The payment will be handling by eBay and you will benefit of 7 inspection time period and the option to accept or reject the car on my expense. The payment is going to be send to one of eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection agent, funds will be placed on hold until you receive and inspect the car. In case you don’t like the car (is not our situation) you will ship it back at my cost and receive a full refound from eBay employee. Payment will be relesed to me only with your approval…If you are still interested just send me your full name and shipping address. I will forward your info and they will notify you about our deal.
Sincerly,
Lt. Mark Terrell

You really ought to do a little more research on buying on eBay motors. I recommend starting with this link:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/eBayMotors.html
At the bottom of that article are links to purchase protection programs and escrow services. The "holding the money till you’re satisfied" is escrow service – not purchase protection.
Yes, yes it does
Sounds like a bad deal all the way around. Why is he in such a hurry to sell it? Military personell have places on base to store their vehicles. Also, he has known for some time now that he was going to go back to Iraq. I have found that whenever someone is in a hurry, it is usually bad! Contact ebay. $6000.00 is a lot of money to be floating out in cyberspace. Ask for his phone number and his military information. If he is sincere he will not hesitate to even give you the name of his Commander. You could even notify them to make sure he is on the up and up. email me if you need more help.
Good luck!
