How do online stalkers find out my personal info?
I had a stalker on myspace who was not someone I knew personally, but she found out my full name because it was part of my myspace url. Then, in a message that scared me to death, she posted my mom’s dad’s and brother’s names. my profile was set to private and I never ever mentioned their names. They don’t come up on a google search either. How did this person find their names? And I am positive it was a stranger, not someone I know.

allison there are many ways, your 1st mistake is myspace. another that most do not realize is google, but by being online we are all subject to anything that comes our way. and one has no one to blame except themselves. Cmon we are not in the 50s anymore and the world/technology is surpassing our time. the people that are playing games like this are very sharp! we are @ a place in time where very few things are safe when it comes down to the society in which we live. and the best way I can describe it is: as with rabid animals that attack, there are humans the same way! I would start by saying that it very well could be someone that knows you, doing this, lets hope that is the case and if they are scaring you like that I would RE-evaluate anyone in your life that you let know that much info. about you! and then again myspace ect.. I can find your isp and track anything and everyone on that isp address. it takes someone very intelligent to do this but it’s very possible. and by no means is it me. I hope everything works out for you and you gain knowledge from this, and are more cautious of the sites you visit in the future. also you can email me if you would like and we can find out the exact isp and location that it’s coming from!
There are sites where you type in someone’s names and it gives you a background check and address of them. Also there are Geneology sites where you can view people’s family trees.
