How can i put my website or webpage in Google / Yahoo search list at free cost ?
i want to put my website in search engine list at no cost. so are there any steps for it ?

you are probably unaware of the methods which search engines use to list a website in their search
if you have a website for example http://www.abc.com and anybody searches for that website or webpages, then
your site will be listed but it maybe on the 10th or 11th or….. a randomly numbered page.
there is a formula which the search engines use to list a webpage and its link on the first few " search results " page.
it uses the traffic to your webiste ( number os users logging on to your site everyday, week, etc), the content ( not adult, but clean ) and other factors,
so the best way to have your website to be listed in first few
" search results " pages is to have as many as users viewing your site. this will automotatically increase the chances of your site being in first few pages which will in turn increase your viewership.

Most of the major search engines have a link to where you can "manually" add your website however you should be warned that it may sometimes take them months to get to your site (some even say so and some may even take longer).

Many people have many different sayings as to how this can be done. Personally I know that your site doesn’t have to have a lot of traffic to be on the first few pages of the major search engines.

The thing that you have to understand about optimizing your site for the search engines is that you have to decide what keywords / search terms you want associated with your site.
For example my blog - The Adsense Consultant - shows up on page one of Google’s, Yahoo’s and MSN’s search engine results when the term "adsense consultant" is typed into the search box. Now since the name of my blog is the Adsense Consultant and that is what I do then I most definitely want my blog to come up when someone is searching for an "adsense consultant" - Especially if my blog shows up on page 1 out of over 2 Million indexed sites!
Basically speaking that is the same thing that you are going to have to do if you want your site to show up high in the rankings of search engine results.
