I have too many ideas and they’re all boring by themselves. So why not combine them. Too bad I have no idea how to do this. Help me?

- Meghan Smith met two twin boys when she was eleven years old due to a strange circumstance. She always had difficulties telling them apart, seeing as they were obviously different personality wise. Daniel was the "good" twin, he was sincere, sweet, kind, and adorable. And his brother, Dean, well, his parents were working on him.. But, as the trio grows up, they start to change, and change isn’t always good.

- Sam has always had her eyes on Jack Hulsing, who transferred to her school when she was a freshman. He was never popular, but people liked him. He was mysterious, funny, and cute. But, she never got the chance to talk to him. That is, when she comes down with something and sees him sitting in her office. Apparently he comes to the nurse’s office everyday, but she doesn’t know why. Does Jack Hulsing have more to himself than just a cool exterior?

- Alyssa is neither at the bottom or top of the high school food chain, but she talks to a somewhat cute, popular guy from time to time in her psychology class. When she finds out that he has had a crush on her best friend, Emily, since eighth grade, she wants to help him out. But, what could happen if she starts selfishly thinking she wants him to say all these things to her.. not Emily.

- Because of an unknown disease, Callum has been home schooled his entire life. He forgets simple things too often and his memory isn’t stable enough to attend regular public school. As expected, his memory seems to deteriorate even more as time passes, causing his parents to research a doctor across the country. His parents were never the wealthiest on the block and become desperate enough to resorting to borrowing money from Callum’s grandparents in order to have him see this doctor. But, with low wages, how do they expect to pay for the costs that come from seeing this doctor? Things are going his way, though. The doctor has a preposition for them― his daughter, Emma, has never had many friends, so it’s expected that her father would be concerned for her. Without any second thoughts, they agree to this, not even knowing what she’s like. But, Callum finds out on his own what she’s like. At first, it’s just for his parents.. but then he starts to get closer to Emma and has different intentions than just being her friend. Soon, he becomes restless and can’t help but feel butterflies when she’s around. His memory starts to increase, but not because of the medicine, because of Emma.

- Matt has finally graduated from high school, and his parents couldn’t be anymore proud. He had straight A’s all four years, and his parents are under the impression that he’s actually going to school to take over their rich business. But, Matt wants to be an artist. His parents aren’t going to let him go so easy once they figure out he ran away from home. They cancel all his credit cards, and have people searching all over for him. All hope is lost for Matt.. until he meets a bored rich girl, pretending to be a lesbian to tick off her parents. Her parents don’t believe her, and she is in a bit of a dilemma. They make a compromise.. Matt dresses up as her "girlfriend" in order to make her parents believe her, and she pays him, giving him enough money to both go to a good college and rent an apartment. But, with his parents looking all over for him, college isn’t a good idea at the moment. He lies low, and she allows him to stay at her place as long as he doesn’t get caught. (insert clever ending sentence here)

- Kameron is on the run from the law for something he didn’t do. He goes from garage to garage, trashcan to trashcan, shed to shed, just for a place to sleep every night. Until one night, he’s discovered by a girl named Annie. She demands he get out before she calls the cops but he begs her to listen to him. She listens as he tells her he has no idea why the law is after him and she lets him stay, not in the garage, but in her bedroom. How can he stay in a girl’s room without wanting to touch her? Just maybe things will work in his favor..

I have more, going to add them into the additional details. Wow, this is long. I won’t get many answers probably, ha.
- Phoebe has never had a dream that she remembers―only nightmares. Every night, the same nightmare replays in her head about the death of her little brother, Damon, who died before his eyes even opened. She’s haunted by this nightmare and wonders if she can ever have a real dream. Her parents decide it’s best for her to move to a new place to forget about Damon. In her new home, she drifts into a place where she dreams about a boy with a piercing on his left ear dressed up as a doctor, saving Damon’s life. His face was covered but she knows he exists somewhere in the world. She knows this is true the second a boy in her class, James Anderson, says hello. He always seems to be right by her when things are bad and he immediately gains her trust. Could he be the boy in her dream? That’s what she thought before she’s partnered up with the school rebel, Griffin Parker. Now she’s not so sure..
- In her school, everyone thinks they know the "true" Ashlin Campbell, but the only person who does is her online friend, DistinctxP. She thinks she’s in love with DistinctxP, that is, until he soon disappears out of nowhere. She has no one to talk to anymore, until she starts talking to the new kid. At first, he annoys her, but she soon softens up around him. What will happen if DistinctxP starts talking to her again as she starts to fall in love with the new guy?

- One night, David is just walking around his small neighborhood when he spots a girl sleeping in a tree fort. He tries to wake her, but ends up falling asleep at the base of the tree. When he wakes up the next morning, she’s fallen on his lap. Love at first sight? More like love at first flight.

- Victoria, Summer, and Callan―or more commonly known as the “trio”― have grown up together since Victoria met Summer and Callen in fourth grade. Through laughs, cries, and anger management classes, they have survived long enough

In all the searching I’ve done before posting here,it seems like we’d have to stay a minimum of 2 nights. Here’s my criteria:2 adults and 1 child(5 years old),1 night stay, preferably close enough to walk(we can walk several blocks but not like a mile;anything we have to drive and find parking in town is out) to Mallory Square and no more than 0 a night. Please try to be more specific than saying things like "Go to Expedia or Travelocity,etc.,etc." Also,if you can throw in your suggestions as to where to get good Key Lime Pie,that would be cool;I know that people’s ideas of what’s good are subjective but we can check out a few places. Also, can you post a direct link to the Hemingway House(so I can check out when they’re open and cost of getting in) because I can’t seem to find it for some reason!!! :( :( ;that’s where we’d like to go besides Mallory Square, especially my daughter since she loves cats. If you can think of anything else we can fit in on our second day, great!!!

Such as an old friend you really want to get back in touch with, old lover, relative, etc.
This assumes you haven’t found them easily via online sites such as whitepages, ussearch, etc. Has anyone tried such sites and not found who they were looking for?

I turn my head from all this hate
That the world seems to have made fate
For me to endure
Never knowing what’s in store
As for my tomorrow
All I know is it will be sorrow

If I turn on the news
I know I’ll get the blues
And I’m sure that when I drive to a friend’s
There’s a shooting round the bend

Seems like I should just stay in my house
But then I’m going to hear my neighbor beating his spouse
Nowhere can I escape
From this assault, possession and rape

Cause when you’re from the same streets as me
It’s like all you can see
Is this everlasting pain
That deteriorates my brain

All that pain has become a cloud
It has created a shroud
Over my dissolution of right and wrong
But on my streets that makes you strong

As a person this cloud makes me weaker,
It makes my soul bleaker

With every gunshot
Every time I sell pot
Even when I sing my song
I can only long
For times long, long ago
Back when consciousness would flow
Down these red, red veins
From when mercy seemed immovable in my brain

Now even in my dreams
I see gats gleam
I see people dead
My glock pressed to some black man’s head

And this dream makes me want what I know isn’t right
It makes me choose the darkness over the light
Now I’m selling weed and committing other crimes
It seems like my life has no reason or rhyme

I find myself lost
Finally realizing the cost
That these crimes have taken upon me
I realize that I am not free
I see that I have left behind
My once glorious righteous mind

A great man once said
If you emancipate your head
You will be free
That to me
Sounds like the way to be

So I’m going to strive
To survive
This inevitably hard, hard life
And I’m going to search within this strife
For my own liberation
From this desperate situation

Dear Friends,

Please pass this information on to your friends, we the American people need to be more involved in getting congress to pass a comprehensive energy legislation plan now. If we leave it up to our elected officials, we may never see our country free of our dependence on oil or the middle east. I blame myself, along with the American people for taking our economic and energy situation we now face in the United States for granted. I hope it’s not to late, our country is facing one of the most important issues in our nations history. Let all Americans sound off with one voice, "That We Want Take It Any More!" we want American Energy Independence Legislation Now!

Write to your elected Representatives in Congress
It’s important to let your elected representatives know that you want them to support American Energy Independence.
It’s Easy
Write a letter to the two U.S. Senators representing the state where you live, and also write to the U.S. Congressman representing your District. Here is a letter that you can use. But feel free to add your own thoughts and comments. You can find your representative’s name and address using the links provided in step 2.

Dear Senator last name here,
Or
Dear Representative last name here,
The United States spends more money protecting Middle East oil and fighting terrorism than it would cost to develop new energy technology that would obsolete oil as a source of energy. The connection between terrorism and Middle East oil wealth can no longer be ignored.
It is time for America to lead the development of new energy technology that would end the need for oil as a source of energy. Freeing America, and all other industrial countries, from the need to use fossil oil as a source of energy will cut-off the flow of oil money to the Middle East and put an end to the financial support of militant Islam.
With the help of new technology, America’s energy needs can be obtained from sources other than fossil oil.
American technology has put a man on the moon, mapped the human genome, and successfully landed robotic exploration vehicles on Mars. It seems reasonable to believe that American scientists and engineers could also develop environmentally safe alternative energy technology to free America from dependence on fossil oil.
The United States has over 270 billion tons of proven coal reserves, having the energy equivalent of four times the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia and equal to all of the proven oil reserves in the world. If the United States could use its coal reserves without destroying the environment, foreign oil would not be needed.
Nuclear energy can produce the hydrogen and provide the intense heat needed to make synthetic oil from coal.
Nuclear power is a proven emission-free energy source that can replace gas and coal fired base-load electric power generation plants, and enable the USA to develop a replacement for our oil based transportation fuel. The replacement of coal power plants with nuclear power plants would reduce America’s atmospheric CO2 emissions by 30%.
The USA does not need to wait for a hydrogen economy; nuclear power can begin to give America energy independence now, by providing the process heat and hydrogen needed for the manufacture of synthetic oil from coal. If nuclear heat and nuclear hydrogen are used in the manufacture of synthetic oil from coal, then the yield of oil from coal would be much higher than if coal was used to provide the needed hydrogen and process heat.
Using synthetic gasoline and diesel made from coal, to provide transportation fuel, would not reduce CO2 produced by cars and trucks on the nation’s highways, nor would it increase atmospheric CO2 because it would merely replace existing consumption of gasoline and diesel. However, it is possible to have zero emission gasoline/diesel cars and trucks. If technology is used to remove the CO2 tailpipe emissions directly from the atmosphere after the CO2 is released from the tailpipe. In other words, allow cars and trucks to release CO2 and then clean the atmosphere using technology designed to remove CO2 from the air. The collected CO2 can either be recycled or sequestered.
If coal power plants were replaced by nuclear power plants, for base-load electricity, and coal is used to make synthetic gasoline and diesel, then Americans who are dependent on the coal mining industry for their incomes would support nuclear energy.
Modern Coal-to-oil technology can free America from dependence on Middle East oil. One billion tons of coal per year, at 3 barrels of oil per ton, would replace 65% of USA imported oil, and provide jobs for people who depend on the coal industry. At 12 million imported barrels per day, 65% is 7,800,000 barrels per day. Just over 20% of oil imported into the USA today comes from Persian Gulf Nations, which are also members of OPEC. Less than 45% of oil imported into the USA today comes from OPEC.
Drilling for new petroleum might help in the short term, but in the long term natural petroleum is not sustainable — we cannot depend upon crude oil for our energy future. However, the development of technology for the production of synthetic petroleum will create a sustainable energy future. Synthetic hydrocarbon fuels such as synthetic diesel and synthetic gasoline can be made from many different sources of raw material, including renewable biomass. America has an abundance of natural raw materials that can be used to make synthetic petroleum.
A large-scale public investment in Gas-To-Liquids (GTL) technology would bring the cost of the technology down so that the manufacture of synthetic petroleum would be competitive with fossil oil production. The current interest in Gas-To-Liquids technology is focused on monetizing otherwise worthless remote natural gas deposits. However, variations on the same technology can be used to make synthetic petroleum from synthesis gas derived from coal, oil sands, oil shale, biomass, or even recycled CO2 in combination with hydrogen extracted from water.
Synthetic gasoline and synthetic diesel made from synthetic petroleum can power existing cars and trucks without needing to modify the engines or national fuel distribution infrastructure.
Details and links to more information about new energy technologies can be found on the American Energy Independence web site.
www.AmericanEnergyIndependence.com
Congress needs to fund advanced research and development of new energy technology. The United States needs to move forward with the development of sustainable sources of energy, and do so with the urgency of a national security mandate.

I’m a senior in high school and would like to do something more important this year before I leave for college. I am looking for a program with the length of at least two weeks to a month. (I volunteer at a hospital and with my school on a weekly basis so I’m looking for an experience outside of my community) I live in the U.S. and am open to a program here in the states(People have mentioned Indian Reservations, or Hurricane Relief but didn’t have a specific org.) or abroad (I’d most like to leave the U.S. but a lot of people have said it’s more of a feel good experience for the volunteer than actually helpful, your opinion?). Cost is a concern, so the most cost-efficient would be great, but sense I’m looking at this for a couple months down the road I have plenty of time to save up and get some paychecks. I am most interested in working with kids, but my second choice would be the environment. So if you know of any legitimate organizations and have any specific ideas (please no volunteer search engines like volunteermatch.org) I’d be really thankful! The site I’m currently most interested in is volunteer.org.nz, if you’re familiar with it, would you recommend it?
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read all that and respond! :) I just really would like to do something important and helpful to others and frankly, there are a million websites that show up when I google and it’s impossible to decode which ones to look at and aren’t scams!

Does anyone know how I can find someone when all I have is a name and old address? All the online websites and geneology searches haven’t been any help. If you have any ideas I’m willing to give em a try.
Last I knew they were living there in 1987… I guess that’s over two decades ago if that makes a difference.

Firstly, I’d like to point out that the book IS written, I’ve just gone back to redo the prologue. It’s a fantasy-adventure style book, and the names "Search" and "Captain" are explained as the book progresses (so no trolling on the names, guys).
Any words capitalized are in italics in the book itself.

People say bad things happen for a reason.
Maybe they’re right. Maybe the most terrible things in life can carry an underlying message, a lesson. But if this was the cost for a moral message, then I didn’t want to be taught.
I stared at the baby – MY baby – that Search held so carefully in his arms. Half-orphaned, cold, hungry and freezing cold despite the linen I’d managed to wrap her in, my daughter’s entrance to this world was somewhat less-than-ideal. Part of me blamed myself for this. Most of me wished she’d never been born. She was on this earth because of me, and because of HER, Zina – her young mother – was dead.
‘I’ll take care of her, Captain,’ Search promised me, his voice the only sound through the otherwise-still night. He stood int he doorway of his home, the light behind him was warm and homely. Where I stood, on the doorstep, the world was dark and cold.
I nodded, wiping the tears from my eyes. At times like these, I never felt like a Captain. I wanted to scream and cry and fall to my knees, but such an unprofessional act would be enough to demote me. But still, I was only a teenager! How did they expect me to cope with so much at once?!
As Search closed the door on me, separating his stale life from my shattered one, I let the tears flood down my cheeks. They said a lot, my tears were an indication of my suffering. But still, they didn’t say enough.
whoops, i did mention it was cold twice. ignore that =/

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The-48-Laws-of-Power/Robert-Greene/e/9780140280197

Law 1

Never Outshine the Master

Always make those above you feel comfortably superior. In your desire to please or impress them, do not go too far in displaying your talents or you might accomplish the opposite – inspire fear and insecurity. Make your masters appear more brilliant than they are and you will attain the heights of power.

Law 2

Never put too Much Trust in Friends, Learn how to use Enemies

Be wary of friends-they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.

Law 3

Conceal your Intentions

Keep people off-balance and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue what you are up to, they cannot prepare a defense. Guide them far enough down the wrong path, envelope them in enough smoke, and by the time they realize your intentions, it will be too late.

Law 4

Always Say Less than Necessary

When you are trying to impress people with words, the more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control. Even if you are saying something banal, it will seem original if you make it vague, open-ended, and sphinxlike. Powerful people impress and intimidate by saying less. The more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish.

Law 5

So Much Depends on Reputation – Guard it with your Life

Reputation is the cornerstone of power. Through reputation alone you can intimidate and win; once you slip, however, you are vulnerable, and will be attacked on all sides. Make your reputation unassailable. Always be alert to potential attacks and thwart them before they happen. Meanwhile, learn to destroy your enemies by opening holes in their own reputations. Then stand aside and let public opinion hang them.

Law 6

Court Attention at all Cost

Everything is judged by its appearance; what is unseen counts for nothing. Never let yourself get lost in the crowd, then, or buried in oblivion. Stand out. Be conspicuous, at all cost. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, more mysterious, than the bland and timid masses.

Law 7

Get others to do the Work for you, but Always Take the Credit

Use the wisdom, knowledge, and legwork of other people to further your own cause. Not only will such assistance save you valuable time and energy, it will give you a godlike aura of efficiency and speed. In the end your helpers will be forgotten and you will be remembered. Never do yourself what others can do for you.

Law 8

Make other People come to you – use Bait if Necessary

When you force the other person to act, you are the one in control. It is always better to make your opponent come to you, abandoning his own plans in the process. Lure him with fabulous gains – then attack. You hold the cards.

Law 9

Win through your Actions, Never through Argument

Any momentary triumph you think gained through argument is really a Pyrrhic victory: The resentment and ill will you stir up is stronger and lasts longer than any momentary change of opinion. It is much more powerful to get others to agree with you through your actions, without saying a word. Demonstrate, do not explicate.

Law 10

Infection: Avoid the Unhappy and Unlucky

You can die from someone else’s misery – emotional states are as infectious as disease. You may feel you are helping the drowning man but you are only precipitating your own disaster. The unfortunate sometimes draw misfortune on themselves; they will also draw it on you. Associate with the happy and fortunate instead.

Law 11

Learn to Keep People Dependent on You

To maintain your independence you must always be needed and wanted. The more you are relied on, the more freedom you have. Make people depend on you for their happiness and prosperity and you have nothing to fear. Never teach them enough so that they can do without you.

Law 12

Use Selective Honesty and Generosity to Disarm your Victim

One sincere and honest move will cover over dozens of dishonest ones. Open-hearted gestures of honesty and generosity bring down the guard of even the most suspicious people. Once your selective honesty opens a hole in their armor, you can deceive and manipulate them at will. A timely gift – a Trojan horse – will serve the same purpose.

Law 13

When Asking for Help, Appeal to People’s Self-Interest,

Never to their Mercy or Gratitude

If you need to turn to an ally for help, do not bother to remind him of your past assistance and good deeds. He will find a way to ignore you. Instead, uncover something in your request, or in yo

There I was. I was walking home alone, which in fact, My mother told me never to do. She said call and wait at the bus stop. I could care less if now I get in trouble. My life is over. All my friends are visiting their family for Christmas. So grounded or not Im stuck alone in my room. I looked up and saw that snow had started to fall. In my neighborhood there is a giant hill in the middle (man made) so the other neighborhoods could be separate. Around the bottom of the hill is trees so thick. I made my way to one of the benches in the playground (on top of the hill). Since it was winter night fell fast. I kicked around the mulch and did some homework. I unzipped my backpack to find juice and crackers. I sat there munching the crackers and gulping down the juice. I threw the empty juice bottle on the ground and burried it with my foot. It was getting more and more dark .I decided its best to go. “Littering is a crime.” a voice said. I knew only two things: It was a boys and he was behind me. I couldn’t recognizes him because he was mumbling. He was about five feet nine inches, and very muscular. I turned around. “Okay. Mr. Policeman.” I leaned down to pick up the bottle. “Happy.” I threw it by him. “ You don’t know who your messing with.” He kicked the bottle. “Get over here and pick it up. Its you kind of people who are killing our earth. Thats why winter came in September.” His voice became no longer playful. I was to go over there and pick it up, throw it away and go home. Go home. Go home. Thats my only thought. He is a five foot nine teenager. He can’t hurt me or tell me what to do. I walked over and leaned down I was on my knees and hands. Crawling to the trash can. “Okay?!” I tossed it in. My hand searched for the trash can for a grip. I used it as a balance and I got up. “Littering comes at a cost.” His voice cracked.
“I laughed.” His voice no longer seemed serious. He seemed nice. Caring for the earth and all. Maybe he just wanted to control me and make me lean over. I made my way down the hill. But just as I got only two steps in front of me he said. “Where do you think you are going?” I paused and froze. His voice was back to serious. There is a difference between : ‘Where are you going and Where do you THINK you are going?’
I turned around and he walked closer saying. “I said there is a price. Didn’t you take me serious? Or are you being disrespectful?” He grabbed my wrist and lead me back the the playground. “let go!” I screamed. “Shut up. Im not playing.” He yelled. He threw me on the ground. Where the mulch slept. “Unzip.” He said while he was doing the same. I looked to the moon the whole time. It seemed forever. I looked into his eyes. Monster. “You monster! I said NO! Now let go! Are you death and blind? Im fighting you back, I don’t want to do this! And Im yelling STOP. When a girl says stop-stop!” I searched for my arm and raised it. An attempt to slap him. He grabbed it and twisted it back. “Shut up.” He whispered in my ear.His hand covered my mouth. “Don’t scream, everyhthing is fine.” His hands swept over my forehead. I started to cry and scream. I trembled. One more hour later, which seemed forever, he tossed me my clothes. I was shaking. I couldn’t make since. I felt alone and tired. My arms were bruised and I was bleeding from head to toe. He helped me to my feet. “What’s your name?” He said, as if he cared. As if this never happened. I looked up and spit at him. “Rude much?” He said. “Do you want me to walk you home?” He said, like I never spit at him or he was never such a monster to me and who knows who else. He grabbed my hands (gently) Standing in front of me. He kissed me.His mouth melted into mine. I never closed my eyes. “No, STOP.” I pushed him away. “Put your arms around me. Say you love me.” I did as he told me. For a second he was gentle and nice. Actually very funny. We danced around the playground. Im so confused. One minute I begging him to stop and the next I begging him to say something else that will make me laugh. I looked to the moon. The first time I looked to the moon I was tembeling in fear. Now I looked to it as a peace sign. Him holding made me feel so light. I could feel his mussels. His teeth are straight and he is taller then me. My head rest on his shoulders. Like a perfect balance. Im so comfortable. My bruises are healed and my memory erased. Like what he did- never happened. I looked again to the moon. “Why do you keep looking up?” He whispered. “Its beautiful.” I said. My eyes are closed with me head resting on his shoulders. “Like you.” He said. I looked to his face. Our eyes met. He has white teeth (that are straight) his hair is kind of long and silky and his eyes are those that you could melt in. His cologne filled the air. “I love you.” I said. I have no clue why I just said that. Like it slipped out. But in a way I felt peace and white lights wrapping around me like I should have said it a long time ago. in return he said that
Chapter One. I have no clue what I will call this story.
Or where to go. Please help and give me ideas!

I had someone call me from a cell phone that came up as unlisted. Can you reverse lookup number for free? I see a lot of cell phone number lookup sites but they all seem to charge for the service.

Ok, so this might be far too long as im feeling the need to vent and get things off my chest. If you read all the way to the end of this, then its appreciated :)

Im 18 and i have suffered with clinical depression for around 4 years now. Alongside the depression, ive suffered with a social anxiety disorder which brought on crippling panic attacks. For about a year it was so bad, i hardly ever went out.

Ive tried just about every anti-depressant you can get, ive gone through years of therapy, ranging from seeing a counsellor to cognitive behavioural therapy (which cost £60 a session and quite frankly, i found it disturbing). My GP recommended that i have psychoanalytic therapy, long term. But this is by no means cheap and not easy to come by! The Mental Health Service in the UK needs drastic improvement, the government needs to step up and make vast changes.

Im currently taking Prozac, have been weined off of it twice before, but in my personal experience, coming off it was torture. Not only did i feel suicidal once again, but i felt like i was going literally insane. So docs put me back on straight away and id be mellowed out once again.

Thats the thing with Prozac…for me it makes me feel good and positive and sometimes, makes me feel like the person i dream of really being…but it also numbs everything out. everything thats real.I hate the fact i cant really feel anything…not the raw emotions you feel when your depressed. I guess its a love/hate relationship i share with this one little pill.

Due to looooooong waiting lists for treatment & support, a lot of the time ive had to "heal" myself. Which, in my eyes, is no bad thing. Its where soul-searching comes in. Depression has taken so much from me…I had to drop out of high school and take exams at home, tried out college and failed at that and now…Well, im still a little lost in life. Not entirely sure what direction to turn to, but i know i’ll get there in the end…

Depression has also given me a lot back. It doesnt define me, but its helped shape me into the person i am today and its opened my eyes to how other people suffer in life.

I guess at the end of this rant/babble/load of rubbish/whatever you want to call it…the main point is that depression is an illness, not a weakness.

Dont give up. There’s always hope if you can just hold onto it.

i’ve posted this before but so far haven’t had any helpful critique.

Half-orphaned, hungry and freezing cold despite the linen I’d managed to wrap her in, my daughter’s entrance to this world was somewhat less-than-ideal. Part of me blamed myself for this. Most of me wished she’d never been born. She was on this earth because of me, and because of HER, Zina – her young mother – was dead.
‘I’ll take care of her, Captain,’ Search promised me, his voice the only sound through the otherwise-still night. He stood in the doorway of his home, the light behind him was warm and homely.
As Search closed the door on me, separating his stable life from my shattered one, I let the tears flood down my cheeks. They said a lot, my tears were an indication of my suffering. But still, they didn’t say enough.

Victims can apply to be reimbursed, but presumably, only if their allegations turn out to be true.

I stand before you the victim of a horrible miscarriage of justice. One of the things that bothered me the most about my false rape accusation (FRA) is that there was no financial disincentive for her to attempt to ruin my life.

She was interviewed by 3 state troopers (a regular team of two, plus a female trooper who was called in especially for this.) Paramedics took her by ambulance to an Emergency Room, where she was rushed ahead of people who actually needed medical attention. Again, an additional staff member had to be brought in—a SANE nurse.

Evidence was collected, and transported by yet another State Trooper to the Crime Lab, where lab specialists began to carefully examine, classify, preserve and file this evidence, which would soon be joined by several more large boxes of evidence taken from my house the next day by yet another team of Troopers. A local police officer had been assigned to keep me and my home under surveillance overnight, until a the prosecutor and a judge arrived at the courthouse the next day to discuss the case and get a search warrant. I was arrested, transported to the county jail, and held against my will for 47 hours in an overcrowded cell (To make room for me, a gasoline thief was released).

My car was towed to the crime lab and impounded, and held for 5.00 ransom. When they let me have it back after driving a rental car around for a few days, it had swatches of upholstery cut out. And the battery was dead. Fingerprint dust was all over the interior, including the steering wheel, presumably proving that I’d been driving my own car.

My handgun, which had never been mentioned in the accusation, was pried from a locked box in my home, and sent to Quantico Virginia to be test-fired, so that if it ever had been used in any other crime (or ever would be in the future), ballistic evidence would be on file. I wouldn’t get it back for nearly half a year, leaving me unarmed during that time.

And of course, I, who now needed a lawyer, had to hire one.
She, who did not need a lawyer, was assigned a team of them.

After she was gently interviewed twice more by State Police Detectives (a male/female team in which they played good cop/nice cop), a finding was issued: Bi-polar disease or the medication used to treat it, was responsible for her making an allegation against me, which the crime lab had proven to be false. She was asked not to do it again, and driven home. I was released from the jail, into a snowstorm, penniless and coatless, with orders to return by the end of the day with the that I now owed the sheriff for two aspirin and a decongestant tablet, which I’d asked for, and another for mugshots and fingerprinting, which I didn’t ask for.

I walked home in the snow, and threw a rock through my window to get inside my home. (my keys had been impounded with my car.)

Total cost to me:
Just under ,000

Total cost to the taxpayers:
Just under ,000

Total cost to the False Accuser:
{content}

The "free" detective work, "free" legal team hours, "free" rides, and "free" medical treatment you can get with an FRA?
Priceless!

So yes.
Charge accusers for Rape Kits.
Charge them in advance.
Charge them double.
If the accusation is genuine, she can recover the money.
If it’s bogus, there will at least be some money left over to help defray the costs imposed on the falsely accused.

–Ray

There are many ways to meet and date attractive singles. Some people like to keep their options open by searching online. There are some sites that are free and some cost a pretty penny. I have not used WWW.ADULTFRIENDFINDER.COM so I have no clue if it works. Tell me what you have heard about this site and whether or not I should recommend it to the singles I know.

Every site that I have found is for profit, and I haven’t found a "reverse lookup" service that’s free. The number is not a cell phone number and might be either residential or business.

If you know of one does it include reverse lookups for toll-free numbers?

Thank you thank you and thank you!

Dating online is not always as good as what I am expecting about. Wanna hear my story ? BEWARE Few weeks ago I registered myself in interpals.net. I got so many letter like this.

Like I said before my name is Miss Awa Sesay 23 yrs old girl, from Somalia, single and never married. I believe that it is important we get to know each other better for trust and confidence which is necessary in any good and lasting relationship built on truth and real love.I would appreciate if you can send me your photographs.

I like a honest man, trustworthy, clean, passionate, compassionate, fun, outgoing, Kind, caring, easy on the eyes, adventure in and out of bed, emotional, romantic, have a positive outlook, spontaneous, equal in giving, respectful, tolerance, Patienc, down to earth and a realist. I am a easy going decent girl. I am sincerely looking for that one special gentleman that will make my life complete. We will share everything and become one.

I am presently leaving in Dakar Senegal under the custody of a Rev Father as a result of civil war that destroyed our home country Somalia. His church has a larg camp and in this camp, it’s just like one staying in prison and i hope by God’s grace i will leave this country to a better home possibly to your country if you would be interested to help me come over to join you.

I don’t have any relatives whom i can go to, all my relatives that i know ran away in the middle of the war the only person i have now is Rev Mike Kupa who is in charge of Church situated in Dakar, he has been so nice to me since i came here but i am not living with him rather i am staying in the female hostel because the church has two hostels one for male the other for female.

We do not have the privilledge to official activity be it money or whatever because it is against the law of this country. I want to further my education.

My late father was a Gold delear in my country before the rebels attacked our home, my parents were killed. It was only myself that is alive and I managed to move into this peaceful country called Senegal where I am staying as refugee in the church camp because i lost my passport.

Life has not been easy since all this while, people are being persecuted, displaced from their homes, subjected to in-human treatment, we don’t have access to clean water, no access to good education, no freedom of association. I do not have enough chance to chat because alot of people wants to use the computer and there is only one computer in the camp located in the office of the Rev. that we all use to send mails.

Attached is my photograph.and i will be waiting to receive yours.

Lot’s of love from,
Miss Awa

My grandma bought me these frogs that came from natural aquatics or something like that and I have been taking care of them for weeks now but, I noticed that the space is too small because one of the frogs is trying to get out or swim farther. I didn’t really know much about the frogs for the past few weeks so I was constantly worrying if they’re okay or if they’re dead or not because one time it didn’t move at all and its arms and legs were stretched out and it was floating. I totally freaked out and tapped the glass to see if it was alive and it moved. I searched it up and I didn’t even know that was called a zen position that they constantly do. Then this one day the other frog was on the bottom of the aquarium and it wasn’t moving and it looked pale. Then again… I tapped the glass to check if it was alive again. I know I know. It’s a big no no to tap on the glass. I just couldn’t help but check to see if it was still alive. Now I think I traumatized my frogs or something because when i’m not there, they’re like just so calm but, once I approach they either flinch or go crazy. Today a few minutes ago, I looked in the aquarium to see if the snail was doing okay. Then all of a sudden, both frogs scared me by jumping super fast in the aquarium like bouncing on the walls and I can hear the thuds in there and it scared me… I few hours before that I researched the natural aquatics or whatever they are called and a lot of people hated it and said it was animal cruelty and how it’s so small and how frequently you feed them. I totally agree with them. I’d like to do what they did but, i’m afraid I might kill the frogs. Can you help me understand why the frogs are so jumpy and what should I do? PS If I give it back to my grandparents, my grandpa might turn them into frog legs… T_T It cost 30 bucks just to buy those frogs. My grandma might feel bad if I just gave it away…

How to Pick a Veep
Jun. 23, 2008 | By KAREN TUMULTY
…to picking vice-presidential nominees…of Vice President should tell…three-star running mates. The right…

So who might be pizazz choices for this year’s contenders? McCain might turn to his longtime hero Colin Powell, the former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
===========================================

One of the stranger ironies the Constitution has bestowed on American politics is this: some 50 million people just finished choosing the parties’ two nominees in a grueling, yearlong primary campaign that cost millions of dollars and captivated the world. But when it comes to picking vice-presidential nominees, only two people on the planet get a vote: John McCain and Barack Obama. Between an explosion of democracy in the spring and an even bigger explosion of self-determination in the fall is a brief interlude of, well, something that Vladimir Putin could probably live with.

Everyone knows that the main qualification for the vice presidency is being ready, at a moment’s notice, to step into the most powerful job in the world. But what qualifies you to do the job and what qualifies you to get the job may involve two completely different calculations.

Both McCain and Obama have their selection committees already at work scouring candidates’ financial and personal backgrounds, voting records and public statements. In a sudden setback that could slow the Democratic nominee’s search, Obama lost his top Veep hunter, Jim Johnson, after the former Fannie Mae executive came under scrutiny for accepting preferential mortgages from a lender linked to the foreclosure crisis. Both camps will finish their work by early August, if not sooner. When they do, the choice of Vice President should tell us something — maybe a lot — about how McCain and Obama think and how they could run the government. There are a lot of ways to choose a Vice President, and each comes with risks. Here are five of the most reliable:

1. Play to Your Strength
Perhaps the fastest way to send a message about who you are is to pick someone who appears to be … just like you. In 1992, Bill Clinton picked another Southern baby boomer with a moderate record and a full head of hair. Then Clinton, Al Gore and their wives took a bus trip that looked like a rolling scene from The Big Chill. Picking Gore reinforced Clinton’s claim to be part of a new generation of Democratic pols, liberated from the tired (and losing) politics of the past.

If McCain were to take a similar approach, he might pick a No. 2 who has strong national-security credentials or another maverick who defies party labels — perhaps someone like independent Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman. By this standard, Obama might opt for a partner who is young and charismatic and also breaks a historic barrier of race or gender — perhaps Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius — or one who transcends partisan politics, like Republican Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska.

2. Look at the Map
An old-fashioned road atlas is a good Michelin guide for three-star running mates. The right choice can add balance to a nominee whose roots may seem a tad too effete to go over well in the heartland — or add some coastal glitz to a rural candidate’s prairie-flat steadiness. As it happens, the last two candidates to make their picks with geography clearly in mind — John Kennedy in 1960 and Michael Dukakis in 1988 — were both from Massachusetts. And they both picked Texas Senators — Lyndon Johnson and Lloyd Bentsen — for the second spot on their ticket.

More narrowly, the map can help a nominee make a play for a state that is crucial in November, though that is never a sure bet. Kennedy, with Johnson as his running mate, squeezed by Nixon to win Texas with a margin of merely 46,000 votes, in what turned out to be one of the closest elections in American history. But Dukakis got swamped in the Lone Star State, where Bentsen’s considerable popularity was no match for the thrill of having another Texan, George H.W. Bush, in the Oval Office.

This year, given the closeness of the race and the importance of winning a few battleground states, McCain and Obama will keep at least one eye on the Electoral College map right through November. That means Obama will be considering choices like Ohio governor Ted Strickland (though Strickland says he would turn down the offer) or one of three possibilities from Virginia — Governor Tim Kaine, former governor Mark Warner or Senator Jim Webb. Or perhaps a Westerner like Montana governor Brian Schweitzer. McCain might get an Electoral College boost by picking Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, Pennsylvania’s ex-governor Tom Ridge or former rival Mitt Romney, who has family roots in pivotal Michigan.

3. Shore Up Your Weak Side
On the other hand, the nominee might need a partner who compensates for his vulnerabilities or perceived weaknesses. That was plainly what George W. Bush had in mind in 2000 when he picked Dick Cheney, a seasoned Washington insider with a long foreign policy résumé (who also happened to be heading up Bush’s vice-presidential-selection process). And Gore knew that in picking Lieberman, who had been one of Bill Clinton’s harshest Democratic critics during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, he was buying some distance from the incumbent Commander in Chief.

In McCain’s case, any doubts that voters have about electing a 72-year-old President might be allayed if he tapped someone far younger. And it wouldn’t hurt, in a year when gasoline prices and financial jitters have moved past the Iraq war to the top of voter concerns, to look for a sidekick who is more comfortable than McCain is with economic policy. It may well turn out to be someone about whom the conservative base, which is a little leery of McCain, is more enthusiastic. Some possibilities the two might want to consider as hedges against their shortcomings: McCain could pick Romney or Pawlenty, both of whom have executive experience and relative youth, or perhaps an economic-policy expert like former Ohio Congressman Rob Portman, who served as both budget chief and trade representative for Bush.

Obama, however, might want to address concerns about his youth and inexperience by picking a running mate who is older and has strong national-security credentials. He could turn to seasoned, silver-haired foreign policy experts like Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Joe Biden or former Senate Armed Services chairman Sam Nunn. Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell or former South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle would add some experience as well.

4. Hug Your Rival
Even after a long, hard primary fight (and sometimes because of it), the ultimate winner almost always has to consider bringing the loser aboard the ticket. That’s what Ronald Reagan did when he picked George H.W. Bush in 1980 and how John Kerry came to choose John Edwards in 2004. Sometimes party unity simply demands it. "We ended up with the obvious choice," says adviser Bob Shrum of Kerry’s decision to tap Edwards. "People in the party overwhelmingly wanted him."

Then again, a former adversary can have extra baggage. For one thing, there will be lingering tensions and suspicions that former rivals still harbor ambitions of their own. The other party is certain to dredge up every damaging sound bite — "Voodoo economics!" — that your former rival hurled in your direction back in February. These worries are usually overcome. Already it’s hard to miss the steady thaw in McCain’s once frosty relationship with Romney as the former Massachusetts governor throws himself — and his formidable fund-raising operation — into campaigning for the man who beat him. And Hillary Clinton’s supporters — starting with her husband — are letting it be known that they expect Obama to give her serious consideration.

5. Hire Some Pizazz
Some nominees find themselves in need of excitement. That explains why Walter Mondale tapped Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman on a national ticket, in 1984. "This is an exciting choice," he said at the time. Within weeks, Mondale did not see it that way.

Given their difficult history of tangling over just about everything, hardly anyone would have expected Bob Dole to pick Jack Kemp as his running mate in 1996 — least of all Kemp. As little as three weeks before he was selected, recalls Dole’s campaign manager, Scott Reed, Kemp was grumbling in GOP circles that he hadn’t been given a speaking spot at the party’s convention. So why did Dole pick him? "We were going for oxygen, heat and energy," Reed says. "We went through the traditional list, and we just weren’t happy with what we were coming up with." Kemp later turned out to be far more complicated a partner than Dole or Reed had imagined.

So who might be pizazz choices for this year’s contenders? McCain might turn to his longtime hero Colin Powell, the former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Excitement is hardly what Obama needs, but he could pick a woman, such as Sebelius or Arizona governor Janet Napolitano, who might force McCain to spend more time in his otherwise safe home state.

But if you venture too far out of the box, voters will scratch their heads sooner or later — and eventually you might too. George H.W. Bush seems to have entered his Veep wish list into one of those dating computers back in 1988. That year he stunned nearly all his advisers when he tapped someone whose Midwestern roots were an antidote to his privileged Kennebunkport background, who was young to his old, who could balance his moderation with a dose of conservatism, and came up with Dan Quayle. The ticket beat the Democrats that fall, but by 1992 even Bush was trying to nudge him off the ticket. The ploy failed. Which is a reminder that however you choose a running mate, another rule will always apply: hard as it is to find a good one, it is sometimes harder to get rid of a bad one.

These are some answers from people saying why they believe:

I believe in the God of the Bible. Life is a constant search and opportunity for study, so I am under no misconception that I "know it all" at this point in my life. However, everything I have seen and studied has convinced without a doubt that God is real and that he is truth. That I do know.

Belief in God does not come from research. Belief in God comes as a result of God revealing Himself to you, so that people who really believe in God have absolutely no doubt about Him.

–Which God? There is only One. He may have different names in different religions, but He is the Only One. (BTW, I attend a Roman Catholic Church.)
–Why? I could go on and on, but basically, I was raised atheist/agnostic with a bit of Fire-and-brimstone Baptist thrown in. Over time, I came to realize that there IS God, He loves us very much, and that the Catholic church ‘fits’ me.

I believe in the Christian God. I believe, because no one can prove to me that He does NOT exist. All the science in the world cannot tell me that God didn’t create the universe. There was something in the beginning. Science tells us that something has to have existed forever. So why NOT God? It’s no more illogical than believing that the universe has always existed. And for the record, He’s not magic. He’s not a "sky daddy". He’s pure energy, pure consciousness, and pure love.
I am the way I am, because I’ve seen things that science cannot begin to explain.

My God: The god that created you and me, and the heavens and the earth. Only 1 god, and I submit to him.I have studied the Torah and the Bible and the Quran. I don’t deny any of them, because they were all sent from the same god on his messengers. Some mistakes made are like making Jesus a god or son of god. That is a mistake (and it is not even written anywhere in the bible). God has no sons and god is not a human being. humans don’t even know how to create a fly!
The Torah and the bible both speak about the next coming prophet mohammed. And it’s true, prophet mohammed did come approx.500 yrs after prophet Jesus with the Quran.
The Quran is 100% the word of god. You will know this when you read it.
hope this helped

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth
and in Jesus Christ is only Son our Lord who was conceived by
the Holy Spirit born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate
was crucified died and was buried.
He descended into hell, the third day He arose from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven sits at the right hand of God and He will come
again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the holy, Catholic church, the communion of saints
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

When one wakes up and looks intently at all the life that is around and sees, one can only believe in a God so Gracious and Wonderful. Not to believe is to miss out on the sunshine on ones face and feel the strength of it’s light, the nourishing energy that once experienced can not be completely explained but needs to be felt by each in order to believe.

To have experienced Jesus and accepted the Light into oneself, how does one deny The Light?
one would have to deny out of choice. God has given His Love through His Son, either believe or don’t, doesn’t mean The Light isn’t shinning.
Source(s):
Accepting Jesus comes through Faith, that only comes from God through His Holy Spirit. The Gift is free, the choice is free but will cost you everything.

110 percent as i base my life on the existence of GOD and JESUS CHRIST.
IN fact I would be willing to die for my faith.

Each paragraph should be a different person’s response. As you can see, all of these responders claim to have the truth. Yet they do not necessarily agree with one another. How do they know? How do you know? People all over the world know "the truth", yet mothers and daughters cannot agree, fathers and sons quibble over the details, or sometimes the major points.

So, how do you know that what you believe is true? If you do not, then why do you present your belief as truth?
Okay, my response if asked:
I don’t know. I believe that there is no loving god because no evidence suggests that there is. Believers suffering and dying all over the world, while I eat good food and sleep in my nice apartment. People who are prayed for actually fare worse. The evidence for evolution is overwhelming. None of god’s plan makes sense. (I’m going to send part of me to die for you, to save you from me, for behaving the way I created you to behave.) I have more reasons, but I’m running out of characters.

I have a new invention call the High-Level EMP Attenuation System. There are EMP protection products already out there but they are limited to a certain frequency range, power rating, rise-time, and need extra components in order to stand up to the power of an EMP. "Why keep your old gas engine when you can get an electric one that is 5 times more powerful and cheaper". That’s why I’m still trying to promote my invention.

You can search through my questions to find it but I’ll post the features of my system. I really need to know because it is confusing how other people are able to get their self and their invention noticed.

Here are the features:

What my system doesn’t use that makes it cost effective, more redundant, and completely different:

No shunts, grounding, or EM filters needed.

No limit on the frequency range or power rating when the correct components are supplied.

No delay in the attenuation response; instantaneous.

No required connection type between “dirty” and “clean” connections.

No required voltage type needed for the same level of protection; DC and AC voltage is accepted.

No add-on components adding to the total cost; shunt capacitors, MOVs, resistors, secondary SASD arrays, feed-thru capacitors, or diodes of any kind are needed.

No add-on transient protector or lightning arrestor.

What my system has that makes it faster, more cost effective than current systems, and completely different:

Encourages the predefined power but blocks out transient voltages.

Effective EMP coverage.

Can be combined with ANY system that has an input.

Can compensate for any loses allowing for a gain in either voltage or current.

No limit on the place of installation as long as the elementary characteristics of the components are met.

Works in any operating condition that does not go above the elemental ratings of the components.

No components to burn out in regular operating conditions or during predefined over voltage conditions.

Costs, for some applications, do not go above 0.

Only adjustments in the metallic and dielectric components are needed to fit the application, therefore, lowering the cost.

Soon to be available to the general population under strict circumstances.

Because a ground is not needed, the risk of conducting a voltage from underground conductors is expelled.

Natural transient surge protectors and lightening arrestors are created during the construction of the system.

If anyone can help, thanks a lot!
I uploaded a video at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmABQAOD6nc

I’m in the process of making another video that will better explain my system. Please tell me what doesn’t seem right.

I opened a forum at:

http://apps.onesecondafter.com/Forum/message/index.cfm?topicGroupID=10569&topicID=21475&messageID=0&start=0&last=0

Just tell me there so that I can try to explain it.

Thanks!
